We carefully recruit mentors annually, and we typically only accept mentors that have strong skills in either: Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Analytics / BI, Computer Science, Business, or Technology.

Bio:

Machine learning practitioner in the field of marketing automation, fraud detection, finance, and e-commerce.  Samuel is Indonesia’s top-ranked Stack Overflow user in R (top 5% worldwide), a certified professional (certificates from Microsoft, MongoDB, Stanford University, John Hopkins University), and an experienced consultant that has worked with several public-trading companies from his time staying in China, Japan, and Singapore.

Between 2017 and 2018, Samuel has trained and consulted with more than 20 companies around Indonesia and a regular guest speaker/trainer in several universities in Singapore and Indonesia. He is also among the first recipients of the Microsoft Professional Program Certificate in Data Science in Southeast Asia, having demonstrated proficiency in R, Python, Microsoft Azure, SQL / T-SQL, PowerBI, and a list of other technologies.

Bio:
Nayoko has been the ultimate network connector and partnership go-to person in the Indonesia startup community. Nayoko has worked with talents from multiple disciplines to help them obtain high leverage in their career and businesses. From his experience as a serial entrepreneur to running an accelerator program in Indonesia, Nayoko discovered a large gap in the need for companies for Data Scientists and the talent supply. Nayoko has a vision that utilizing data correctly will help the Indonesian companies to gain an edge regionally.

Bio:
Ibu Mari Pangestu served as Indonesia’s Minister of Trade from 2004 to 2011 and as Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy from 2011 until 2014. Mari was also one of Indonesia’s well-known economists attached to Indonesia’s leading think thank Centre for Strategic and International Studies; She teaches at the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia, and is a Commissioner on the Board of Astra International.

Bio:
Brian is the founder and CEO of Leada; an online education company focused on teaching data science & analytics backed by Y-Combinator. Brian graduated from UC Berkeley with simultaneous degrees in Statistics, Business and an emphasis in Computer Science. He has worked in investment banking, data analytics, and product roles.

Teresa is responsible for harnessing, managing, and analyzing Snapcart’s data, creating best-in-class big data analytics and machine learning platforms to deliver deep shopper insights to our clients. Before Snapcart, she was formerly P&G Consumer Insights A. Director. She has 17 years of experience in Consumer Insights across Asia. Mayeth holds (cum laude) a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Santo Tomas.

As a fish farmer-turned-agriculture tech entrepreneur, eFishery founder and CEO Gibran Huzaifah is revolutionizing the relatively untapped $5.4 billion-valued Indonesian aquaculture market, utilizing data captured to enable smart-feeding technology in 20,000 fish and shrimp farms across the vast archipelago to ensure the fish are healthy and waste minimized – claiming to reduce costs by 21%. Huzaifah believes disruption in the agriculture sector through technology will play a massive part in addressing what is set to be one of the 21st century’s biggest challenges: famine.
