Bio:

Sam is an RStudio-certified instructor and machine learning practitioner in marketing automation, fraud detection, finance, and e-commerce.  Samuel is Indonesia’s top-ranked Stack Overflow user in R (top 5% worldwide) for three years running and boasts certifications from RStudio, Microsoft, MongoDB, Neo4J Database, Stanford University, John Hopkins University, among others.

Before Algoritma, he had 8 years of working experience, including a stint as an in-house consultant to several public-trading companies from his time staying in China, Japan, and Singapore. He is today an active trainer and consultant for various companies in the financial industry. He has guest lectured in various campuses: Binus, NUS (National University of Singapore)’s The Logistics Institute, University of Indonesia, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Binus, Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB), Telkom University, etc. Courses he authored are also offered in Singapore through Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

Samuel is among the first recipients of the Microsoft Professional Program Certificate in Data Science in Southeast Asia, having demonstrated proficiency in R, Python, Microsoft Azure, SQL / T-SQL, PowerBI, and a list of other technologies, and among the first to be certified in RStudio’s program. Technical committee member and competition judge on Finhacks 2018, the largest Machine Learning competition of the year organized by PT. Bank Central Asia (BCA) and DailySocial.

Bio:
Nayoko is an entrepreneur, investor, network connector, and business development experience in building businesses in differing industries. With comprehensive knowledge of the Indonesian digital industry and tech start-up environment from his experience in building companies, angel investing in startups (Indokasih & Scotty), and advising startups in Google Developer Group; Nayoko kickstarted Plug and Play Accelerator in Indonesia in 2016 successfully with 8 out of the 11 portfolios to receive follow on funding or receive business development deals from corporates up to date.

By the end of his consulting tenure at Plug and Play in 2017, Nayoko has worked countless hours with founders and talents from multiple disciplines to help them obtain invaluable insight into their careers and businesses. By this time, he discovered the biggest problem in Indonesia, which is talent, that there is a large gap between the demand for Data Scientists and the talent supply. Taking this problem together with his Co-founder Samuel Chan, Nayoko has the vision to democratize data science skills and help companies to gain an edge through data.

Edward is the recipient of multiple awards and accolades: the Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year Award (Singapore Tourism Board), Outstanding Young Alumni (NUS), Singapore Youth Award, Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World 2014, ASEAN Youth Award (21st Youth Day Meeting, 2016). Being an active member of the community, Edward has served on the boards of the National Arts Council, National Museum of Singapore, and ACE, a national movement to nurture aspiring start-ups and entrepreneurs, and was also a committee member of the Arts & Culture Strategic Review (ACSR) committee.

Concurrent to his professional capacity of managing Timbre Group, he is currently a board member of the Ngee Ann Polytechnic and SMU Enterprise and a member of the Singapore Youth Award Central Assessment Board.
