Course Summary

The course is designed for both beginners looking to offer a comprehensive introduction to Geospatial Data Visualization with Rayshader in R. Participants will gain foundational knowledge of R programming and geospatial concepts, spanning from fundamental theories to practical applications. This immersive journey will delve into the manipulation of geospatial data, decoding geographical coordinates, and effectively bridging attribute information with map locations. Crucially, students will be given hands-on experience, building impressive 3D map visualizations through the dynamic Rayshader library.

This 3-days online workshop, students will learn how to process and visualize geospatial data effectively, to produce compelling 3D visualizations. By mastering this skill set, participants will be prepared to apply their knowledge across academic, research, and business environments. Ultimately, this course empowers participants to leverage geospatial data for enhanced decision-making, accurate modeling, and efficient problem-solving within a geographical context. 

NOTE: This workshop will be delivered in Bahasa Indonesia.

Upon completion of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Work with the R language and open source packages for data cleansing and manipulation process.
  • working with geospatial data, enabling to conduct both exploratory and explanatory analyses with compelling visual outputs.
  • Develop the ability to interpret and visualize geospatial data outputs, with a special emphasis on effective mapping techniques.
  • Work  with Rayshader library to create 3D topographic maps from geospatial data.
