Course Summary

During the pandemic in Indonesia, the number of investors in the stock market and cryptocurrencies has increased significantly. Unfortunately, the high interest in the capital market during the pandemic is not accompanied by adequate risk analysis education. Data Science can be used to assist you in making trading decisions. In this class, we will be creating a dashboard that can provide trading recommendations using machine learning algorithms.

This 3-day online workshop will be a beginner-friendly introduction to algorithmic trading using the Python programming language. Throughout the online course, we will provide you with hands-on examples and a robust interactive experience. One Instructor and two Teaching Assistants will help you to troubleshoot or help with any difficulties encountered.

NOTE: This workshop will be delivered in Bahasa Indonesia.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon completion of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Understand the basics of algorithmic trading.
  • Work with Python and Pandas for data cleansing and manipulation processes.
  • Performing time series analysis.
  • Building a dashboard to display real-time trading recommendations.

  • Description of the workflow, tools, and setup for the course
  • Introduction to Python programming language
  • Working with Anaconda
  • Using Jupyter notebook for reproducible research
  • Inspecting data structure (list, dictionaries, pandas, set)
  • Collecting live data using pandas datareader
  • Introduction to time series analysis
  • Navigating time series with Pandas
  • Moving average
  • Moving average convergence divergence & relative strength index analysis
  • (Optional) Time series analysis using Prophet
  • Dash Layout:
    Dash layout describes what your app will look like and comprises a set of declarative Dash components
  • Basic Dash Callbacks:
    Python functions are automatically called whenever an input component’s property changes
  • Interactive Graphing and Cross Filtering:
    Bind interactivity to the Dash Graph component whenever you hover, click, or select points on your chart
